District 29 Conference Keynote Speaker – Pauline Shirley, DTM, PIP

Pauline joined Toastmasters in 1981 and has been a dedicated member since then. She has served in leadership positions from Club President to International President. She was the second woman to hold the position of International President in the history of Toastmasters. With a passion for leadership, she has learned from the many leaders she has had the good fortune to work with along the way. She served as District Governor of District 25 leading the District to number one in the world. They also set a new record for the number of new clubs chartered in a year.  Pauline is still an active member of TNT Toastmasters, the club she joined almost 40 years ago. In 2001 Pauline fulfilled another dream using her learned leadership skills when she started a mentoring organization for women, Women of Visionary Influence.

On a personal note, Pauline lives in Richardson, Texas. She and her husband, JD have two children, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Leadership is much easier than we realize. What is leadership and how do we learn to lead others to success? In this presentation Pauline Shirley shares her experiences in leading and learning along the way. You will gain insight in leadership skills which truly make a difference. Leadership is about being focused and aware while learning to make a difference in the lives of those we lead. It is about how we treat those we work with and how we learn from those who lead us. You will hear simple, easy leadership skills. Then, it will be up to you to put the Leadership skills to good use.
