Martin Horn, Devoted Toastmaster
We are saddened to announce the passing of longtime District 29 member Martin Horn on June 15. He was a current, active member of Bennie Bough and Springfield Toastmasters Clubs. Martin originally joined Toastmasters in 1998 and became a member of both clubs in 2002. He had just recently participated in the spring speech contests and was also the current President of Springfield Toastmasters. In addition to his keen interest in Toastmasters, Martin was an avid clarinetist. A short graveside Jewish service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 am at the King David Memorial Park, part of the National Memorial Park. (The address is 7482 Lee Highway, but the gravesite is off Hollywood Road in Section 37.) Martin Horn Obituary – Falls Church, VA
That is sad news. I have been watching Martin at contests for many years. His efforts were always sincere and infromative. Once in a whle he would come up with something that was a complete surprise. He kept us all on our toes. I am sure he will be missed in his clubs and certainly at contests.
Martin Horn’s passing has been deeply heartbreaking for me. He was not only a kind and dear friend, but also a cherished member of our club and my competitor in the International Speech Competition for over ten years. Martin had a gentle soul and a heart full of warmth. We all loved himfor his quick wit, his generous spirit, and the unexpected moments of joy he brought into every room. His absence is already deeply felt, and he will be missed more than words can express.
