ROLES/Assigned Contestants: (here is your chance)! Contest Master (CM): Linda Muller Chief Judge:(CJ) Jyo Pai Sgt At Arms: this person will "escort" contestants to the Zoom "break-out" room. Clint is our Club Sgt at Arms, but if he wants to compete we need to fill. Jyo will assist. Timer: need 1 but ideally 2 timers Judges: any member who is not competing or filling another role Ballot Counter: will receive votes from judges. Please let me know if you want to compete or fill a contest role. Where: Zoom August 18, 2020 https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86300668913?pwd=VW40VWN5MW1YTncySFhtS01BSld3QT09 Meeting ID: 863 0066 8913 Password: 973360 Time: 7:15 pm(check-in) Start: 7:30 pm HOW Table Topics Contest WORKS Contestants will virtually draw "cards" offered by CM to determine speaking order. CJ will review rules with judges, ballot counters, timers. CM announces speaking order of Contestants Contest Protocol-Over View All Contestants will be asked the same question and must speak for a minimum of 1 minute and no more than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. All Contestants except Contestant #1 are "escorted" into a separate Zoom "break-out" room. It is like a "waiting room" away from our Contest Room, and contestants cannot hear the question. Once the Contestant has completed, there is a minute pause for judges to complete their review. The next Contestant is called up, ..asked the same question, etc. Once all contestants have finished, judges will then complete their tallies and work with the CJ to complete and tally votes. If a Contestant is under or over time they will be disqualified. Hint: Get to the green light! but wrap up at red(30 seconds left) If you want a "deep dive" into contests and rules here is a helpful link from Toastmasters: https://www.toastmasters.org/leadership-central/speech-contests
